Does Apple have too many products?

It almost seems like Apple has too many options. Not considering certain build to order (BTO) things  Lets see, there are 20 different apple watch variations and bands, yet no difference in actual hardware so may be there is only 1 Apple watch for practical purposes.

Here is a sort of list, it’s probably not quite complete but overall gives the idea of hard products

iPhones

  • 5S
  • 6
  • 6S
  • 6S Plus

iPads:

  • iPad Pro,
  • iPad Air 2,
  • iPad mini 4

Computers

  • Laptops
    • MacBook
    • MacBook Air
      • 11 inch 13 inch
    • Macbook pro
      • 13 inch and 15 inch
  • Desktop
    • Mac Pro (BYO screen)
    • Mac Mini (BYO screen)
    • iMac 21 inch (future 4K)
    • iMac 27 5K

Apple TV

  • base
  • advanced?

iPods

  • iPod Touch
  • ipod Nano
  • iPod Shuffle

Watches (internal hardware the same only difference in material casing)

  • Sport
  • Watch
  • Edition

Watch Bands

  • Plastic
  • Metal
  • Leather

So is this a lot? may be not actually. I think it is more whether one really ‘needs’ some of these devices. Do some of these devices replace others? For example  iPhone plus replace an iPad mini?  I think the most overwhelming part are the watches, so many band variations and yet not variation in the watch style e.g. no circular option.
