Arrival review

This was a surprisingly clever and thought provoking sci-fi film. The clever editing certainly made for some interesting conversation about whether there was a time loop involved or if it was something else entirely. Amy Adams and Jeremy Adams worked really well together

The sound editing certainly was worth of it’s recent Academy Award being very robust, literally alien yet having familiar tones.  The overall editing was so engaging that you felt dragged along by the story that the time felt well spent.

Although it may have had some very superficial elements of 2001 Space Odyssey , thinking of the Black Monolith, this had a much more personal engagement.

The only minor issue I had was the almost entirely fantastical premise of such an advanced alien ship and culture being unable to communicate in the first place.
