LHC restarting after technical glitches

The main physics news at the moment is that the LHC is coming back on line after a bit of electrical fault of some kind.

There really hasn’t been much going on since about 2013. This will be slow restart though. It won’t be until May until the full high speed energies will be started up. The main experiments are to see what spray of particles comes from colliding high energy protons into each other inside a detector.

There is some hope to be able to notice some more unusual physics beyond the standard model.
