So I’ve finally finished the whole of the iconic season 1. The finale was actually really very cleverly constructed making it a kind of odd cliff hanger in the sense that it is really hard to tell if the series would actually go on. Obviously it would go but it almost seems as though the studios were not entirely sure. What does the wikipedia say about it now? Yep it’s confirmed:
The episode was written in early 1994 before it was known whether or not the series would be renewed for a second season, and featured the closure of the X-Files unit and the reassignment of Fox Mulder and Dana Scully to new jobs within the FBI.
