Avengers: Endgame review

This was really not very good. The set up follows fairly directly from the ending of Infinity War so this really should have been a good problem solving series to retrieve the infinity stones. Unfortunately it was not to be. The retrieval seemed to have been a bit glossed over in favour of being ‘angry and dramatic’.

But the whole movie just felt too sentimental and a bit too self indulgent ( what’s with Thor being miserable like that?) the main redeeming feature was the development of the Hulk into a sophisticated, philosophical and charming character.

The pacing was not very good, especially towards the end. It did have a lot of back story references to other Avengers or Marvel movies to fully appreciate the final battle sequence. This is probably the main appeal of the movie for long term fans of the franchise.
